Rules

The Mechanic

Dethrone is a pay-to-rank leaderboard. Your rank equals how much you've paid. The more you pay, the higher you climb. Taking #1 has a special rule: the previous #1 gets paid 50% of your knockout bid.

Buying the Throne

When you take #1, you're buying the throne from whoever currently holds it. They get 50% of what you pay to take it. The house keeps 50%. This is a slot sale, not a prize. Not a lottery. Not gambling.

Pricing

  • New listing: $5 minimum, $999,999 maximum
  • Taking #1: At least $5 more than the current #1
  • Taking any other rank: At least $1 more than that rank
  • Raising your own listing: Pay only the difference, minimum $1

Payouts

  • Payouts happen only when ALL-TIME #1 changes hands
  • The previous #1 gets 50% of the knockout checkout amount
  • Empty board first claim: 100% goes to the house
  • Raising yourself while staying #1: 100% goes to the house
  • Payments that don't change #1: 100% goes to the house
  • 24H and TODAY boards never trigger payouts

Tie-Breaker

If two listings have the same total, the older listing keeps the higher rank. You can't match someone's amount to take their spot—you have to beat it.

Boards

  • ALL-TIME: Lifetime spend, never expires
  • 24H: Rolling 24-hour window from each payment
  • TODAY: Current UTC day. Past days are archived at /daily/[date]

A single payment counts on every board that includes that time window.

Listings

You can list any https URL or X @handle. We normalize URLs and strip tracking parameters. Chat invites are blocked (Telegram, WhatsApp, Discord, etc.).

Refunds

There are none. All payments are final. By paying, you're claiming a rank. If someone outbids you, that's how it works.
